HydraSolver

Solve Privately. On Your Machine.

5-card and 6-card PLO, Big O, Hold’em and Short Deck. Stand Up (Nit) Game, Squid and Double Board Bomb Pots. MTTs with ICM, Bounty Tournaments and 4-way postflop spots. Built for speed and accuracy.

Not ready for a solver? Start in your browser with HydraViewer packs when you want to study without installing one.

The Solve and Study workspace during a 6-card PLO flop solve, with run controls and the board on the left and three action columns of hand classes on the right.

Solve & Study — a 6-card PLO flop mid-solve: every hand class under Check, Bet 33% and Bet 75% with its frequency, EV in big blinds and combo count.

The same solve shown as a grid of hand classes by suit shape, each cell a bar split between check and the two bet sizes.

The same node as a hand chart — rows by hand class, columns by suit shape, so the betting mass shows before you read a single row.

The hand chart in dark theme, the same figures on a dark background.

Dark theme, the same run. Every workspace is drawn for both, and the theme is one click in the top bar.

The Export strategy dialog over the solve, offering .hdv, .txt and .json with options for per-hand EVs, zero-frequency hands and file layout.

Export the solved street: a HydraViewer bundle, PPT-style ranges, or JSON — with per-hand EVs when you want them.

The Trainer: a flop on the felt with the hand dealt to the Button, three action plates underneath and the graded answer below them.

The Trainer deals hands from a solved sim and grades the action you pick on EV lost, not on how often the solver picks it.

The Session history dialog listing hands played with their grades and the EV lost, above a breakdown by street and spot type.

Session history — where the EV went, by street and by spot type, with every hand you played and what it cost.

The Help Center panel open beside the Build Tree workspace, listing topics, with a guided tour step shown over the tree.

The Help Center is in the app, beside the workspace you are in: topics, guided tours and search.

The Tree Wizard dialog: game, stakes and table on the left, and an example hand with the spots it produces on the right.

The Tree Wizard writes a whole tree from a few answers — game, stakes, table, sizes — with an example hand that follows every change.

The Side games dialog with Squid selected, showing squids left, what each seat holds and the penalty per squid.

Squid and Stand Up (Nit) Game settle inside the EV rather than on top of it, and so do double board bomb pots.

The Rake dialog offering no rake, online and live cardroom structures or custom rules, with the percentage and cap in big blinds.

Rake is solved, not subtracted afterwards: a percentage and a cap in big blinds, or custom rules per street.

Tournament settings with ICM multi-table selected and progressive bounties on every seat, beside the Payout structures dialog with its preset ladders and a builder.

Tournament chips priced in money: ICM off a real payout ladder — WSOP Main Event, GGMillion$ final table — with PKO, KO and Mystery Bounty.

The Batch Sims workspace: seat ranges and a board list on the left, stop rules and output files on the right.

Batch Sims runs a board list unattended, with stop rules per sim and the files written as each one finishes.

What it solves

Built for the Next Generation

Build a tree, browse a solve, train a strategy, all from one engine that automatically adapts to the poker game you're studying. Add a card, a player, a bounty or a second board. Learn how variations like Stand Up (Nit) Game or Squid Game change your ranges.

  • Pot Limit Omaha
  • 6-card PLO
  • 5-card PLO
  • Big O
  • PLO 8
  • Limit Hold’em
  • Limit Omaha
  • Omaha 8 or Better
  • NL Hold’em
  • Short Deck
  • ICM
  • Bounty Hunter
  • Mystery Bounty
  • Bomb Pot
  • Double Board
  • Squid Game

Value change in tournament chips

Switch from chip EV to ICM and the whole game changes: payouts, players left, stacks and future game all feed the algorithm, so a double-up is valued in real money, not chip count.

PKO and Mystery Bounties are not just solved for the bounty itself. Payout structure, envelopes remaining and chips-per-dollar are all inputs HydraSolver uses to calculate the optimal strategy.

Crush your private games

Antes, straddles, double board bomb pots. Stand Up (Nit) Game, or Squid Game. Solve every variation, including minimum VPIP strategies.

Each one is modeled where the pot settles, inside the solver. Not bolted on afterwards. Rake is configurable and saved with the run.

Lock a strategy, then attack it

Pin the frequencies you want at any node and leave the rest free. HydraSolver solves around your locks, so you can study what beats a population tendency — not just equilibrium.

In the app

Integrated Help Center

We guide you through building a sim, running it and exporting strategies. HydraSolver's built-in Help Center covers getting started, tournaments, side games and reading strategies.

Tree builder

Positions, stacks, antes and bet sizings, street by street. Write sizing rules once (RFI, 3BETISO, FLOP.CBET.3BP, sizes like 3x+1bb), save them as presets and apply them to the whole tree. Undo and redo as you go. The integrated Tree Wizard makes things easier.

Postflop solves from a preflop solve

Stop on any node of a solved preflop tree and build a flop, turn or river solve from it. The ranges come with the node — no export, no retype. Queue a texture batch and let it run the boards.

Solve on your terms

Stop on exploitability, drift or convergence — per solve, so each board in a batch finishes on its own. Pause, resume and re-solve any time. Pick your thread count, or run single-worker when two solves have to match exactly.

Read the strategy properly

Frequencies and EV per hand. Toggle hand list and hand chart the same way you would in HydraViewer. Filter with real syntax ($ds, AA, suits and connectivity), group or expand combos, sort any column, switch chips and big blinds. Blockers are built in — you don’t have to infer them.

Trainer

Deal the spot and get graded hand by hand by EV loss. Accuracy, streak, EV lost and where it went. Practice shows what to fix, not just that you were wrong. Sessions export.

Take it with you

Save as .hdr and reopen or resume later. Export one street as .hdv and open it in HydraViewer in a browser, or as PPT .txt (one file per action) or per-bucket .json. Ranges as PPT, Pio, CSV, .p4rg, or a template you define.

What it needs

System requirements

Three numbers matter: how much RAM you have, how much free disk, and which OS you run. RAM decides what you can solve — more players, deeper stacks and more hole cards each cost memory. Cores only decide how fast it finishes.

Desktop OS

Windows 11 or Server 2022+, 64-bit

HydraSolver is a Windows desktop application. It installs to Program Files (one administrator prompt). Need a remote box instead? See server rental.

RAM (memory)

32 GB minimum

128 GB+ recommended

Disk space

500 GB free to install and run

  • App + abstraction maps ~450 GB
  • Working room while solving ~50 GB
  • Saved solves (yours to keep) extra

Rough RAM by tree

These figures are approximate — coarser settings use less, finer settings use more. Hit Size in Build for the real number on your tree before you start.

Your RAM Comfortable Stretching it
32 GB 3-way NL / PLO Heads Up Postflop
128 GB Bomb Pots 4-max PLO5 / PLO6 Preflop
512 GB+ 6-max PLO5 / PLO6 Preflop Deeper Stacks / Multiple Bet Sizing’s

The Detail setting trades memory for accuracy, so the same tree costs more RAM on High and less on Standard. Need more than your desktop has? Rent a server →

Not ready for the full solver?

Start in your browser, today

HydraViewer is where ranges exported from HydraSolver get read. Nothing to install, nothing to solve. Open it and the strategy is on the screen.

It is also the sensible way in if a full solver is more than you need right now. Browse .hdv packs on HydraViewer, load one in the browser, and study without a license or a solve of your own.

  • Opens ranges you export from HydraSolver.
  • Runs in the browser, on a laptop or a phone.

Questions

Common questions

HydraSolver vs HydraViewer — which do I want?

HydraSolver is the desktop software that builds and solves trees. HydraViewer lets you study solved strategies in the browser. You can export a .hdv from HydraSolver and open it there.

What do the licenses cover?

Full private use of HydraSolver, all game maps and updates for 1 year. A Single License activates 1 machine; you can change computers up to 3 times per month. A Dual license allows you to open / run solves on 2 machines at the same time.

Do I need HydraSolver to open an HDS Shop solve?

Yes. .hds files open in HydraSolver, so you need a license. To study in the browser without one, get a .hdv pack for HydraViewer.

Is there a free trial?

No. You can get started with Free HDVs in HydraViewer — the web-based strategy viewer and trainer for HydraSolver exports.

What happens when the year runs out?

The solver becomes read-only. You can still open, browse, train, and export your existing solves. You cannot start a new solve until you renew.

Can I move it to a different computer?

Yes, on either license. Release the activation from Settings → License on the old machine, then activate the new one with the same license id. A Single license holds one activation at a time and a Dual holds two, so a Dual can simply run on both. Releases are for real moves: three per 30 days on a Single, four on a Dual. An activation that sits idle for 120 days frees itself, and support can clear a seat if a machine dies before you release it.

If I purchase a Dual license, is there any expiry on activating the 2nd one?

The Dual license comes bundled as one license, same start (day of purchase) and end date.

What hardware do I need?

Windows 11 (or Server 2022 and newer), 64-bit. You need 32 GB of RAM at a minimum, and 128 GB or more is recommended. Plan on about 500 GB of free disk to install and run, plus room for saved solves. See System requirements for what fits at each RAM size.

Do I have to rent a server?

No. HydraSolver runs on a normal desktop. Renting a server is optional if you need more RAM or cores.

How do I download the app?

After you buy a license, the download is available immediately. You will receive an email with your license ID. Paste it inside the HydraSolver software — Settings → License — then hit Refresh to activate.

How do I learn the app?

HydraSolver has a Help Center with searchable guides for building solves, reading strategies, and training.

Can I pay with Bitcoin?

Yes. You can pay by card or Bitcoin at checkout.
